An incredible quality Japanese Imari
floor standing temple jar decorated in typical
Imari pallette, iron reds, blues, oranges,
gilding etc.  The ovoid body ribbed and
tapering. The decoration with families in
a garden setting with flowers, trees, fences
nd exotic birds etc., interspersed with vignettes
containing  table top vases and flowers.
The superb domed cover with matching decoration
surmounted with a really well defined shi-shi 
showing a red tongue and decoration.
The foot with a lappet design

Meiji period 1868 -1912

All in excellent original condition.  A non visible chip to inner rim.  No repais or restoration
